Colour INKspiration#08 pinks all around

Welcome to this week's bloghop - and of course it's not #08 - we're up to #18, how amazing!  What a gorgeous inspiration picture this week. It's not hard to be inspired by pinks, but the card I finished up with is nothing like what I had initially planned to make. I love the bricks, the mass of flowers, the pink and of course the vesper. This card uses a different technique which is not too tricky but takes a bit of practice using your own bigshot to work out the best thickness of layers. I was sent a gorgeous card using this technique by the talented Heather McCarthy after Onstage last year, and she actually entered that card in the very first Colour Inkspiration Pre-challenge when we first kicked off. She has a great video with the instructions and I'll post the link below. It involves using the So Detailed Thinlits Dies as an embossing folder rather than a cutting thinlit  [EDIT: Ok so I must confess I just discovered that these thinlits are now

CTC #147 Christmas around the world

Welcome back to the blog hops for CASEing the Catty!  I'm back from a little holiday - so much fun. I've been a long time away from my craft desk so I needed something quick for this week. We are CASEing the projects from pages 28-35. I spent quite a lot of time looking at all the projects but just couldn't get inspired, so eventually I settled on some of the simple layouts from the kits on page 33. I didn't purchase the kit but I love the elegant font in the Watercolour Christmas stampset. I'm also not a huge fan of the colours in the Around the World Suite so I opted for some brighter colours. Emerald Envy, Berry Burst, black and white. I  took inspiration from the wreath card and the striped card. With a simple background the sentiment is stamped, created into a label and layered up over a length of folded ribbon and a length of mini-sequins. I figured I could whip that up reasonably quickly!! (turns out I'ma bit slower than I thought, no real surprise there!

CTC#144 Quilted Christmas using some sunflower leaves

Hello and welcome back for the first round of our Christmas Holiday Catalogue projects. How exciting to be using the Christmas catalogue already. The products in the holiday catalogue are available now and I think there's something for everyone in there. I am CASEing the Quilted Christmas section but using some different products as I am not yet ready to make Christmas cards.  Each gift box contains 4 notecards and 4 envelopes and 4 gift tags. I have CASE'd the layout of the little notecard on the bottom of page 4(below), and the mini Pizza box on page 7.  The card is such a simple layout with a square of DSP as your base, a plain colour strip and a simple embellishment. I bought the quilted Embossing folder and wanted to use that so have embossed the panel for the box front and the vanilla strips for the notecards. ( the EF is not too easy to see on page 5, but it sure is lovely!) I stamped the leaves from the sunflower set using the babywipe technique. I
